vyno 1With the arrival of the summer, Montepulciano attracts visitors from all over the world. Naturally, wine is one of the reasons many travellers choose this evocative corner of Tuscany for their holidays.

Kaip ir kiekvienais metais, Consorzio del Vino Nobile has prepared a rich schedule of events to accompany wine tourists from June through to September, in order to make their summer even more delightful.

The Consorzio also offers the possibility of getting to know the producers of local wines in person: the I Mercoledì del Nobile events were designed to offer this opportunity. Every Wednesday in June and July the Consorzio Enoteca, or Wine Shop, welcomes wine lovers who would like to taste Montepulciano wines, presented by the people who produced them, and accompanied with traditional local produce. The Mercoledì del Nobile has now been running for seven years.

Why not take part in the event after visiting one of the excellent exhibitions in the town? We can wholeheartedly recommend the exhibition dedicated to the Master of Metaphysics, Giorgio de Chirico, which is being held in the Home of the Vino Nobile itself, the Montepulciano Fortezza, from 8 June-30 September.

The Montepulciano summer offers plenty of reasons to celebrate, although we have already raised a glass to the nomination of the new President of the Consorzio del Vino Nobile, Andrea Natalini. For the next three years Andrea will lead the producers’ association, meeting the challenges, making the most of the opportunities, and organising promotional campaigns relating to consortium activity.
